General Club Information
Display Dates: The JPSRR usually sets up four to six times a year. The layout has become a stable at the "A" Train Show, St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, and the Division 6 Workshop. The layout has also made appearances at several senior centers including the ones in Shelby Township and Sterling Heights. Up-to-date information on when and where the layout will be set up can be found on our display schedule.
Location: The JPSRR currently has no permanent location. (Though we are looking for one.) We meet throughout Metro Detroit, working in the basements and garages of our club members. If you want to meet us in person come and check out the layout at one of our display events or contact us to acquire our work meeting schedule.
Getting Involved: The JPSRR is always looking for volunteers to help set up and operate the layout. We also need people to help build and maintain the layout between train shows. Volunteers work on scenery, bench work, electrical wiring, track work, and learn how to run the layout during operating sessions. Interested? Contact the JPSRR.
I Want the JPSRR at My Event: While the JPSRR has its usual venues the group is open to setting up at new locations. In addition to train shows, the layout has been set up at senior centers and can be set up anywhere indoors with about 20 x 40 feet of flat open floor space and access to electrical outlets. The club prefers to set the layout up the day before a presentation and is interested in the ability to have a private operating session for group members before or after the public display. If you are in the Detroit Metro area and are interested in having the layout at your function please contact us.
